Shall knit this Women’s size small. If it is big Nat can grow into it.

Such dazzling colours. My pattern is the revised version from My Best Knitted Treasures. Hope I enjoy knitting this because my sister fell in love with it and I shall be knitting another. Looking forward to a straight-forward-just-follow-the-pattern-knit.

Calling this I Heart Waffles because Nat truly does. She prefers purchased frozen re-toasted waffles to my sister’s yummy from scratch pancakes

This is my first Norwegian knit. I like the Ask wool. When winding there was never a knit, break or slub.

May 14: Oh oh. First deviation already. Going with 9 stitch steek, not 5 in case I decide I don’t want to do the Norwegian sewn steeks.

June 5: Four reps complete and ready to set up underarm decreases and steeks for armholes. Putting this aside for a few days to work on Glenesk.

July 7: Have been working on this some while in Sud. Finished knitting for main body. Picked up 91 sts around neck for neckband. Picked up 111 sts for left front band.

July 15: Finished all of the embroidery on hearts and the fuschia verticle crocheted chain stitching around body. I shall wait til I am back home to stitch buttonholes with a laceweight yarn. So now it is complete except sleeves Shall move back to Glenesk.

Aug 8: While shuffling past some yarn containers I happened on Red Lace so I took the opportunity to finish off the buttonholes.

Aug 20: Shall make this a priority now and knit the sleeves.

Aug 29: Finished first sleeve although still embroidery to do.

Sept 13: Got interrupted by uncontrollable urge to start Bessyboot. Bessy body now complete. Shall get this second sleeve done.

Sept 19: Second sleeve complete and all the embroidered hearts on both sleeves finished. I soaked them and shall let them dry overnight before attaching.

Sept 20: Sewed on the buttons. I used the same Cherry Bomb buttons I used on Orkney. Set in both sleeves and started the vertical lines on the sleeves. Hope to be completely finished today.

Yup, all done

Note re yarn quantity used. I weighed/noted every colour to start but I can’t find note so duh.. I ordered large kit and knitted size Small so I would have yarn for wrist warmers. I do have yarn left over in every colour except I used all the green. Also, not much of the Dark cerise/fuschia but lots of everything else.

This is likely because I am not skilled at embroidery and have no idea how to ‘chain stitch’ crochet. So I used duplicate stitch which used more green and dark cerise.

I calculated quantities used by subtracting what I have left from pattern stated requirements for Large.

Final measurements:

21.5” L
36” around at hips
34.5” around at bust
sleeves are 17” from bottom cuff to underarm. Wrists are big. My fault. I should have used 3m needles and I used 3.25m. Oh well.. Now there will be room for those wrist warmers one day.
