Notes

Can’t decide on which yarn/colorway. I think I need to make a couple different versions in different yarns.

Settled on making this first one of Alpaca Love using Eskimimi’s Leaf & Lace modification to Grace Mcewen’s pattern. Hmmm, then I discovered Silverspoon’s Four Leaf version in which she did a provisional cast on of 14 stitches twice (28 stitches) and Handmadem’s modifications to Pamela Wynn’s Wee Twee Tiny Acorn Tutorial.

Thank goodness for YouTube knitting tutorials. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know how to do some of these stitches.

Emailed a pic to my mother. She wants one. Now, I know what I’m sending her for GiftMust, this year.

9/24 - started, messed up, frogged x 6
9/27 - got to row 21 of leaf. Short 3 stitches! Frogged again.
9/28 - completed first leaf. Perfection!
9/29 - learned how to read a lace knitting chart
Tutorial here
10/02 - completed second leaf and watched Kitchener stitch graft video tutorial:

Kitchener mantra: Front: Knit & off, Purl. Back: Purl & off, Knit.

Then, I frogged. I had joined with right sides together, y’see. It’s supposed to be WRONG sides together. Doh!

Then, I wasn’t happy with the way the neck part looked different on that leaf. So, I re-read Eskimimi’s instructions and realized… Another Doh! I was supposed to have knit the second as I did the first, joining the two at the center back of the neck. LoL!
RipIt! RipIt! RipIt! This will have to wait til Friday, AFTER the O-Chem exam.

I offered my mother a matching tam(o’shanter). She said yes. So, I will also be making Fruktträdgard (Orchard in Swedish) to match.

10/8 - resumed. 1 skein is insufficient. I still have 5 more repeats of Eskimimi’s lace pattern to do.
