Notes

Saw this in a LYS. Fascinatingly, Opale knits up to look like persian lamb. So, I made one for Mama.

Knits up really quickly!
Calls for size 17 circulars. I used size 15 for the first one. Cast on 36 sts. Knitted in the round for eight inches then turned and st st back and forth for the rest of the second skein (about four inches, leaving enough to weave in the end), thus creating the split collar. Used Russian bind off. Beautiful!

Added leaf-shaped abalone shell buttons I cut and polished myself.

Found two yarns that match for hats: Tosh DK in Duchess colorway (see my project notes re: using this yarn to knit the Fernly slouchy), and Bernat Alpaca in Plum Prune colorway.
