I have renamed this “thesis shawl” because I have been working on this shawl and my masters thesis for about two years. I have cast it off today (16 Jan, 2015) finished the first written draft of my thesis! I must say it feels rather good. There is light at the end of the tunnel… For the first time in years I feel like I am actually finishing things…

###################################

I learned to crochet for this project and I find it to be quite fun.

Knitting Diary

This is my first time knitting lace.

05/14/12 casting on for the 3rd time. I will be putting stich markers between the pattern repeats. I am much happier with this now. The stitch markers make it much easier to catch mistakes before they become major.

Ok so this has been on the back burner for over 5 months while I was out of the country. Its really weird coming back to a project after that much time… Anyway right now I am super grateful I put in lifelines this time… hopeful that will save me from frogging the whole thing for the fourth time :).

I am going to try and finish this as part of the ravellenic games this year. However I had to start by unraveling 10 rows :(

02/10/2014
Done with clue 5!

I am so close to done I can almost taste it… I have frogged this last part three times. I have started putting in life lines every 4 rows… It is probably some of the most tedious knitting I have ever done and does not play to my strengths. But I will finish I am so close.

Woohoo!!! Only the cast off now. I expect it will take me several hours but oooh to be done with this is a beautiful prospect :).

Yay!!! cast off. I am glad I learned how to crochet for this shawl I think it paid off.
