I wanted to follow one of the original colorways but ended up changing it around a bit. My light blue color replaces the much darker turquoise of the original to lighten it up a bit. Also my brown is a little lighter to match a lighter overall look. At the start of part 6 I’m still happy with my changes! This pattern is wonderful, I love working on it.

After part 7 I’m thinking maybe my brown is just a tad too light. Maybe it’ll balance itself out in the end. Let’s see where this goes.

Ran out of yarn D (rust) on part 8 round 9. I ripped it out and changed double crochets to half double crochets and STILL ran out with 26 stitches left. :/ I had to do the last part with yarn F (brown) because I don’t have any color enough to make a full round of double crochets anyway. I guess I have a tension problem or it’s because I use and inline hook so my stitches are a bit bigger than with a tapered hook… Or maybe I’ve used color D on somewhere I shouldn’t have! Dang, I need to go over this project one more time just to see what I did wrong. Overall it looks great though and I’m happy with the lighter brown too.

Finished! I had to wait for more yarn for over 3 months, thanks to this pandemic and supply chain problems… I’m super glad I got it done, it’s a great project to learn new stitches and techniques. I’m in love. Already planning my next one in a different colorway!
