Notes

I seem to be well and truly into this pattern. It’s really meditative. Totally easy. (I somehow have no interest in the Half and Half Triangles Wrap but I imagine this is how people feel about making it. Mind you, can’t use remnants on that wrap. slightly_smiling_face ) I have made other great, chic “stash remnant” patterns and I have enjoyed them / will likely make them again. But this one is as par for the course as making a sock - just something that you pick up and do. It’s also extremely good at using up remnants of all gauges (held together as necessary). You get to see all of your gorgeous yarns pair up with your other gorgeous yarns that you wouldn’t otherwise have had an opp to put together.

Hilariously, after this version, I don’t have any remnants left (in the right quantities) to make another so I’m keeping a list of eligible new yarns as I finish projects. One day I’ll have collected enough remnant patterns to be able to use up every last gram of every yarn in my stash - a strange, secret goal. Till then, I look forward to finding new patterns as enjoyable this one.

13 stripes (1.5” for each, ~10R) at 150st per round.

Worsted (17g required per stripe for ~10R stripes)

  • Estelle Llama - 100g (5, 17g stripes) - Grey
  • Classic Elite Adelaide 81g (4, 17g stripes) - Charcoal

Fingering (34g of yarn held double required per stripe for ~10R stripes)

  • Woolly Mammoth Natural Sock - 66g (~3 stripes) Blackberry Basket (green white with mauve)
  • Fibre Co Canopy - 32g (~1 stripe) Dragonfruit (hot pink)

How I’ll stripe - from bottom to top:

Stripe 1 Light grey 11R (16g)
Stripe 2 Dark grey 10R (18g)
Stripe 3 Green white 10R (17g)
Stripe 4 Dark grey 11R
Stripe 5 Light grey 11R
Stripe 6 Green white 9R
Stripe 7 Light grey 11R
Stripe 8 Dark grey 10R
Stripe 9 Green white 10R - At end of this stripe switch to US7
Stripe 10 Light grey 11R
Stripe 11 Dark grey 10R
Stripe 12 Bright pink 11R
Stripe 13 Light grey 11R

Total yarn used: 198g (combo of DK/worsted held single and fingering held double)

Pre-blocked dimensions: 20.5” long, 11” wide (at narrower end), 12” (at wider end)

KristinM100's adjectives for this yarn
  1. Beautifully dyed
  2. Very sturdy (even though I'd call this a light fingering)
  3. There's a lot of lanolin in the yarn and it's quite tightly spun and rustic, so there's more friction than you might imagine. Could be easier on arthritic hands but it does keep one's hands soft!
