Notes

Over the years, I have always collected my leftovers (15 grams or less) in big magic balls : tied together with a magic knot.

And despite almost five years of knitting socks, most of them were gifted, already have holes in them, or are just a little bit too tight for me to put on without help. Sock Madness’s socks are for showing, not wearing ;-) .So I was in desperate need of some plain, stretchy, waren socks that i can put on without help.

So i decided to use my magic balls to knit je some Frankensocks. By heart, as by now i know how to make a vanilla sock with my eyes closed.

What i didn’t count on though, is that all this yarn sold as dk largely varies in weight. My largest sock needles are 3mm, and with 48 stitches, they come out just a tad stiffer then I liked. It fits, but I like it looser.

There will be little knots in them, but as they are only house socks, I don’t mind.

First pair is finished. It weighs 86 gram, and weighing my leftovers, I calculate I have enough for 3 more pairs.

For the second pair I did a variation of the Mojo socks, as I love the look of those when not worn. Came out a bit large, but they are amazing to wear. I think I managed to make the ugliest socks ever. One or two more pairs to go….. don’t think I can top this though.

For my third pair I choose the Finnish Train Socks, closely related to the mojo socks, but with a normal heel. (Flap & heel turn).
