Yes, I did it again; took up another test. This time a modular blanket/beach towel so I can use more colors.
I chose the leftover aqua and a cake of Sultan that I bought on sale, not knowing how hard it is to work with, and added petrol and cream. I can add beige if I think I need to. I’m curious to see how especially the cake will work up, as the gradient is so slow it will be one, max two colors per module.

As usual,my project will turn oit mirrored as I am lefthanded.

Ran out of yarn on almost 2/3 of the orca. I’ll have to take a break now to decide if I will buy a new skein of that very expensive yarn, or redo it with another color. Bummer, because I MIGHT have finished it almost in time for publication.

I’m not gonna continue with the dolphins in the mean time, because if I DO decide to order more, I will use the same skein to do the dolphins.

Yarn arrived yesterday, and I finished the orcas without any color difference whatsoever. In the meantime I decided how to do the joining : a row of hdc around the patches and join them with a zipper join.
(2 hdc in every square, 2 hdc 1 DC 2 hdc in the corner, and with the DC I pick up the backloop of the middle stitch of the border in cc).

I will have enough left of every color to make a 7 or 8 row border around the entire project, but I have no real plans for that yet. There still will be plenty left.

Before I could Jon the squares, I had to do a row of HDC around it. This looked really nice,but meant I could not do an interlock border. Ended up using a Zipper join as planned, and I made a 9 row border, just sc in back loop.
