Notes

This hat gets the most complements!

Took the Anemone Hat Class with AnnieLaurieknits up at Cashmere Cottage Yarn. I had most of a skein of the grey tweed HiKoo left over from the Millwater Cowl so I bought a skein of red-violet to go with it.

Knitting this in stripes make for some different effects on the mobius brim. The möbius forms an uneven stripe, actually it’s knit sometimes and purled others, but I did not mind the results.

I added an extra set so my brim is deeper than the pattern’s. I was looking at the wrong row and should have removed a couple extra rows when I knit the first stripe on the main part/body of the hat after the brim. The rest of the stripes have one plain row on either side of the row with the twists in it. On the decrease, that occurred in the third plain row (which followed the twist’s row)--so I did not need to think about where the twists were falling between the decreases.

Hikoo is lovely and soft to wear. It seems to have knit up a bit large for my head, and I have a large head (22”) but the advantage is that it doesn’t mash my hair down so much.

Note that pdf prints upside down if printed on two sides of the paper, at least on my Epson printer!
