Notes

Trying a soft neutral grey-green-lavender vs. neon Noro in turquoise, hot pink, lemon yellow, rust, and purple colors. Crossed fingers! Cody insisted that the Hannah Cowl from Cascade Yarns would look good in any combination so I am testing the theory with some kind of clashing colors.

I was a bit torn between starting at one end of the Seaside or the other. Would have liked having the yellowest white stripe with the deep purple, but decided to let the colors fall where they would.

That is, until I ended up with Barbie pink and purple together! Going to frog that section and cut the Noro pink out then transition from the brown tones into the peach while leaving the purple Seaside in place.

Well, I took out the most hot pinkest section and kept the coral. Then I realized I’d end up with the pink at the edge if I continued as planned. Fiddled with the idea of reversing the color, see the different sections pinned down the middle, with coral center, lavender center, and coral area mostly removed. I’m rather in favor of taking out almost all the pink and reversing to the brown, but that seems to bring out the yellow more. My son voted for leaving the coral as the center of the turn. Then there is a bright focal color that is not yellow (plus he likes orange.) I think the Seaside is reversing colors on its own, too, which should help the new plan. Since I have to frog less, I’m going to try his suggestion. I can always frog it some more if it doesn’t suit.

Notice the Tie Fighters appearing down the reverse--we were watching the original movie while redesigning this cowl--cosmic influence? I would have liked it even better if the coral was centered exactly down the middle of the tie fighter row.

If I do another one--I will use smaller needles to do the seed stitch border as it is still a bit ruffled even after blocking.

This seems like it would make a great tote bag fabric--maybe felted a bit. If used that way, it would be good to leave off the border so that the bottom is thick and strong, or else to alternate two yarns in some kind or stripes or checks, maybe linen stitch…

Destiny loved it so I gave it to her.
