I was looking at making an owl hat because I knew Colleen liked owls, and there was still some room in a package I needed to send her way. Her cousin sent me the picture of the perfect pattern the next day. Can’t beat synchronicity like that!

I used black plastic beads after sending her pictures of buttons and beads I had for choices. They look quite shiny and nice.

Vanna’s acrylic yarn with the tweed bits makes great owls. It also knit up a bit larger than the Cascade I use on the second hat for another niece. I like the way this one has a little extra pooch at the top that falls down the back of the head. Probably would go over a small bun.
