There is a lot of purling in this pattern. It is probably easier to finish the back decreases with straight needles, but I switched to dpns. I made one change which was to put the icord stitches onto a holder and then kitchener them together at the back of the neck. It left a little empty space that I filled in with a few stitches like a triangle gusset. The icord around the back looks nice.

My niece likes yellow and this yarn is a great bright yellow. I did not think about the fact that it is barely spun. The tassels are turning to fuzz while I am blocking the hat. I am separating them and attempting to felt each strand individually. Tiny reggae strands? Not fun when there are over 50 pieces in each tassel.
