The stitch used for the top of the boot cuff in the pattern linked is the stitch I used for my cowl.( the sc, dc, dc, in same stitch, skip 2 stitches, rpt)Also called blanket stitch, added link to photo tutorial.(how to crochet blanket stitch) I used a “N” 10.0 hook. The stitch is done in multiples of 3 + 1. For 68” scarf I chained 151. I did seven rows of the stitch for about a 4” width. (I also made a double wrap scarf: ch 109, and crochet 8 rows measures abt. 4.5” x 50”). I then added 2 buttons and wove in the ends. I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Yarn in Rust. It took maybe 1 1/2 skeins or less. (I used pieces I had left over so not quite sure.) The 50” took less than one skein. Total time 2 hrs or less. Can be worn as a scarf or wrapped around neck and buttoned as a cowl.
