Intswemodo 2015 #3

I have been following the pattern as written. So far, so good.

I had a little trouble with my double increase being too loose. It made these unsightly holes that I could not overlook. I re-knit those about four times before I was satisfied. Not the fault of the pattern, just my problem with tension, etc.

I’m glad I chose to knit a size larger than usual. I wanted to have some positive ease (just as Connie described), and I tend to knit tighter in the round.

There is no waist shaping in this pattern. It doesn’t need it. The ribbing pulls it in a bit, but this sweater is not meant to be form fitting.

Mods: I had to make the sleeves longer. I have ungainly long arms, therefore, I knit 19 in (48 cm) sleeves. I used a fake tubular bind off on the sleeves (unvented by TECHknitter). I knit a few rounds of k1p1 ribbing on the bottom hem because I wanted to do a tubular bind off. I’m one of those peole who likes the Kitchener Stitch.

July 19, 2015 - The knitting is finished, but I need to block before I post completed pictures. The fit is great, comfy and lovely. I love my new sweater. ♥ ♥ ♥

This pictures in the sun make it look like a bright red sweater. It’s actually a dark reddish orange.
Sanguinella = Blood orange
The pictures taken in the shade show the color more accurately.
