This is one of the most creative, imaginative, fanciful knits that I have ever seen. I feel privileged to have been chosen to test this for Abbey.
Oct. 6th-Knit upto row 81. This row was the row that left me with 41 stitches between the fingers. Now for the edge and BO.
Finished!!!! WOW! I have less then 2 yards left after the super lose BO! That is what I call cutting it close! I think that God added a few yards to the yarn just so I could finish binding it off.
This is an easy, fast, VERY satisfying shawl. I have loved every stitch!
Now to block it!
Oct. 5th-The second ball ended on the 49th row. The Third ball ended in the middle of row 72.
Oct. 4th- Had to tare back to the start of the hands and try again. I miss read the pattern. My falt. (sigh) But… I’m making headway now! I am up to row 19 and boy do I like this pattern. It may become my favorite!
I need to write up the changes I made.
(Besides the knit/purl switch on the body, on the hands/fingers/wongs I had to change where the wings meet the body where the edges meets the body. The K2tog’s to SSP. The SKP’s to P2tog. On row 4 the SSP’s to SSK. The P2tog to SKP.
On the odd #rows of the fingers I changed the K2tog’s to P2tog. The SKP’s to P2tog.
On the even #rows. The P1’s to K1. The SSP’s to SSK. The P2tog to K2tog.)
(Sure hope I got this written up right)
First 4 pictures are at row 19 of the wings and fingers. The 1st ball ended at the end of the 21st row. Today I got the start and 36 rows done.
Oct. 3rd-Love the shawl so far. Well written pattern.
Frogged and started over with one change. I am now knitting all the purls and purling all the knits on the body. I made NO OTHER CHANGES!
The spine and the edge are unchanged. When I get to the wings, they will be as Abbey wrote it.
Blocked, it’s 80” across the top
24” across the “body”
35” down the “spine”
22” down the “finger bones”
