IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THE ORIGINAL PATTERN LINK IS NO LONGER WORKING. HERE IS A LINK TO THE PATTERN ON A WEB ARCHIVAL SITE (THANKS TO FOXFIRETX) :

I think I probably should have made one or two more rows to the upper portion. It fits over my bust completely but doesn’t extend much lower than that. We’ll see based on how it fits when the bottom is on. It fit nicely after all.
I spaced the straps 8 shells apart instead of 10, with 5 under the armpits instead of 4. I needed to redo the straps with 6 shells between the armpits to make them line up properly-a miscount on my part.
Because all 4 straps are identical, I made the joining seam under the back left strap. When I make this again (I’m thinking I will!) I may try putting it under the back right strap.
When making the straps, (after the initial SC row across 12 sts) to maintain stitch count for each sc row, ch 1, skip the first stitch, SC across and SC in the top of the ch 3 from the previous row.
The bottom section is a little confusing at the start and end of each round, but the pictures definitely help, and once you get used to the way it’s written and get going, it’s doable.
Over all, I do like the top even though I didn’t center the shells quite right. (They’re off by one foundation ch section which I think is more obvious in the back view photos.)
If I make another one, I will be more mindful of the starting point to be sure it is aligned properly.
