My parents brought a 1-kg-cone of cotton from Zimbabwe where my uncle lived since 1970.
I used the yarn doubled throughout because originally it is used for fine crochet works.
If you look at the cushions you may perhaps recognize some well-known patterns.
The cables are from an Irish cable pattern book.
Then there is Saffron, a pattern from Rowan magazine #25
The rippled pattern may also be from a Rowan magazine and the “windows” is a classical pattern I found in an old magazine which doesn’t exist in my library any more.
After knitting I dyed the cushions in the washing machine using Simplicol color.
Now the color has fade out by cleaning the covers many times since 2004, but in one of the pictures you can see the original hue.
In May 2011 the coverlets were redyed
