I have much more stitches for the collar and I knitted them as followed:

Stitchcount diveded by two - half of collar stitches.

First short row: Knit half of collar stitches (I placed a marker at the middle of the neck), then 18 stitches for the short row (half of 36 sts mentioned in pattern), w&t

Simular for all other short rows of collar.
