Cast on 77 instead of 67
At Row 8, I increased to 123, like I’ve seen others do. But, to do this, I had to (M1, K1, M1, K2) until 6 stitches remained, then (M1, K1) once, M1, K5.
At Row 21 I increased to 153.
Did a second button hole at Row 22.
At Row 32 I increased to 195.
Did a third button hole at row 38.
At Row 45, I knit 32, put 37 stitches on waste yarn, knit 57, put 37 stitches on waste yarn, and knit 32.
I read a lot of different patterns, but in truth, I ended up following exactly what Moxymomma did. Thank you Moxymomma!
1/12/10 - I barely made it to the end of the yoke with the two skeins from String Theory, but I did! Now the project is going to have to wait until I make it to the yarn store towards the end of the month.
2/28/10 - Finally able to pick this back up. I had a false start with some Rowan Cocoon for the body. Now I’m knitting with two strands of Cascade.
3/8/10 - starting the arms. I picked up the 37 stitches from the waste yarn, plus two more stitches from the yoke (one on either side). I picked up 18 stitches from the body, then I knit one stitch from the yoke and one stitch from the body together on either side - giving me 55 stitches. Placed a marker in the middle of the underarm (9 stitches in on the purple), and began counting the round from that point. I knit 4 more rows, then knit to one before marker, slipped stitch, removed marker, k2tog, replaced marker, and finished round. After that, I knit 5 rounds, then decreased at the end of the 6th round by k2tog before marker. I repeated these two sets of decreases until I had 47 stitches on the needles.
knit 52 rounds (i think) of arm before 1st purl round.
3/16/10 - this is slow going now. Not sure why I’ve slowed down so much, BUT one sleeve to go (and of course one more trip back to the yarn store for one more skein of yarn).
3/20/10 - not blocked, but finished knitting by the first day of spring! Just in time for the weather to warm up too much for a wool sweater.
I used almost all of the 6 skeins of cascade 220!
