Notes

When I first found this pattern, a little over a year ago, I decided that it would be perfect in either solid Camel or in one of the prints with an ecru/aran background. However, when I finally resolved to make it (a week or so ago) I was determined to find a color that would fit the pattern and my wardrobe. I agonized over it.

THEN, when I pulled out my stash to sort through it, I came across the Camel again. That’s when I realized that would be the perfect color to show off the texture of this bag, AND since I had two cones of Camel in my stash, it would require zero trips to the craft store.

I haven’t made a lot of progress yet, but I can already tell I made the right decision.

Also, thanks to this Youtube video, I’m using an invisible join so the seams won’t be obvious. Additionally, I intend to use my own method for making handles rather than the one shown. I think mine makes for a more attractive, and very strong, shoulder strap. Here’s the link in case you want to try it.

Now that I’ve finished the bag, I’ve changed the difficulty rating from Piece ‘o Cake to Easy. This, because of the FPDC and BPDC rows. Also, I made it more difficult by using an “invisible” join.
