GREAT pattern! I love two-handed, stranded color work, and I am finding this scarf easy, fun, and fast to knit … and it is such an elegant design--one that’s sure to impress.

My way: Provisional cast on. Knit two rows, then do the purl row as in the pattern. I purled two rows instead of one.

Cascade 220 Superwash is now made in China. I find that the China 220 does better on a US 7 than a US 8. For me, it works up nicely on a 16 in. size US 7.

The cast on of 60 felt tight to me -- too much struggle to knit in the round, so I changed the cast on to 72 and it is much more comfortable. This was true when I tried it in a US 8 as well -- I used an 8 first as in the pattern, but when I ripped it out to change the cast on, I changed to the 7.

Yes, I plan to Kitchener all 144 stitches at the end, both on the 72 stitch provisional cast on side as well as the 72 on the last row … call me crazy, but I like to Kitchener, too! I’ll see how it looks at the end and decide from there. Update 3-7-15: LOVE THIS WITH KITCHENER ENDS! Well worth it.
