Not as happy with this as I could be, as I had a problem with the colourway: a skein of a different (but very similar) colourway got mixed up and labeled as the Dream in Colour december club colour (Candy Floss), and I didn’t notice until I was halfawy through the blanket with it. As a result, the last 30 rows are in a slightly different colour than the rest… Oh well. It’s still pretty though! :)

On row 4 of second chart repeat. For some reason this is going very slowly…. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not used to charts, or because knitting for too long on those needles hurt my fingers, but I’ll be lucky if I finish it in time!

Now on row 7, though I probably made a mistake on row 3 or 5, as I was short one stitch for row 5 (not helped by the fact that the repeat moves to the right on this row)… I’ll advise anyone to put a lifeline before beginning lace section. I’ll go on for a couple of rows, see if it’s truly hideous, and if it’s not I’ll just carry on… I’m afraid to frog and not be able to pick all the stitches up! We’ll see… ,

On second row of lace body, thought I’d never finish the border!!! It went fine, and I managed to pick all my stitches without too much problem. However, I had to tink back 3/4 of the first lace row because I forgot to place markers for the repeat and got mixed up in the chart (I really don’t like chart and prefer written instruction but oh well… this one’s not too complicated now that I have the markers). It’s going slow, but hopefully it’ll be done by the end of may…

Since I don’t know if this baby is a boy or a girl, I decided to play it safe and chose a blue/pink yarn that will suit both. It reminds me of the “pink! no blue!” fight between the Sleeping Beauty god mothers :)

So far going smoothly, will soon have to pick up 133 stitches from edge, we’ll see how this goes…
