August 12 I put this on hold for a little over a month, but just felt inspired within the last week or so to finish it. Blocked it out last night -- man, that was NOT fun! -- but I’m really happy with the end result. Yarn did bleed a little; otherwise, i enjoyed working with it.
My daughter even liked it enough to offer to model it for pictures! (Well, after she gets home from school.)
If I make another of these, I’m curious to try using larger (6mm-ish?) beads in place of the nupps. Would have to be careful about which material the beads were made with; could get heavy easily.
June 16 Ready to start the agave charts.
June 15 Exactly halfway through the transition chart. Could have the chart, probably, except we had a huge storm come through and we were without power for 6 hours.
June 14 Done with yucca chart.
June 9 Finished set up chart, and 2 repeats through yucca chart.
June 8 This is the second time I’ve started this project. The first time, I was really sick with a head cold and things just didn’t work; this time, I’m just kinda sick with the same head cold but I’m conscious enough to follow directions.
Bought 50g of topaz colored 8/0 Czech seed beads. I don’t really expect that I’ll need that many, but I wanted to compensate for irregularities / small holes / frenetic cats running by and going “meeeeeaaaarrrrgggghhh!”
Now that I’ve started knitting, I wish I’d chosen a color that stood out against the yarn more. Still pretty, but I wish I had something more contrast-y.
