I had the fortune of spending my last semester of college in Rome, Italy. At the time I spoke a bit of Italian but knew nothing of knitting. Now I am fluent in knitting and my ability to speak Italian seems to have all but disappeared. When I saw this shawl I knew I wanted to knit it and loved the idea of translating it. With the help of an Italian website that translates English knitting terms into Italian (here) and everything I could remember from learning Italian from 2nd grade through college… I did it.

I noticed that shortly after I started knitting the designer posted an English translation on her blog. Mine is a little different as I translated the increase sections as (k, yo, k) in same stitch instead of kfb.
