Notes

Testing this gorgeous wrap for Lottie.

Have 3 different beads that would go with this yarn, will make final choice once I get to the beaded chart.
- UPDATE: Beads are Toho 6/0 Trans-Rainbow Sugar Plum

Final Yarn count:

  • Started with an oversized, 103 grams skein (824.1 meters/901.3 yards)
  • Used 101 grams = 808.147meters/883.8 yards
  • Remaining:2 grams (16.0 meters/17.5 yards)

Will wind the yarn tonight and finish my other shawl currently WIP (4 rows left, yey!) to free up the needles and cast on the wrap over the weekend.

23.8
ok, so the wrap is knitted from center out; prov. cast on, finish one side, then go to the beginning, and repeat.
Easy. But… this means cutting the yarn and joining at the prov. cast on for part 2. :(
So… with my trusty winder and scale at hand, I wound of exactly half of the skein on another roll and this way I will begin at the center of the skein. First one side, then the other avoiding the cutting and weaving in in the middle. This will also insure I will not have a sudden and drastic color change.

Each half skein is 51.5 gram

Evening update: 4 repeats done.

30.8
24 repeats done.
Each 2 repeats are taking about 2.25-2.5 gram

2.9
34 repeats done.

5.9
38 repeats done. 70 g left. The leaf chart took 33g.

6.9
Transition chart done. 1gr used.
One repeat of Tulip chart done. 2 gr. used

7.9
Two repeats of Tulip chart done. 4 gr. used

9.9
With Lottie’s approval going to add 2 or 3 more repeats of the Tulip Chart.

  • One extra repeat done. 2.2 gr. used (9gr left)
  • Second extra repeat done. 2.2 gr. used (7gr left)
  • Third extra repeat done. 2.2 gr. used (4.4gr left)
  • Rows 1-4 of Tulip Chart .4gr

Starting the Edging chart with 4gr left should be more than enough for what the Edging will need, even accounting for the picot.

10.9
Edging chart and the beaded picot done. Used only 1.5gr., so I have about 2gr left.

15.9
Busy weekend, almost no knitting time, only did the set up and 2 repeats of the Leaf chart for the second half.

6.10
