I am crocheting some with a cuff-modification, that my friend Annie made over here:
http://www.ravelry.com/projects/mmeera4/crochet-mittens--...
or here for the adult size with hook 6: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/mmeera4/crochet-mittens--...
I like this cuff much more!
Nice result and easy to make too.
Crocheted already more pairs… Photo’s will follow.
On photo 2 I prefer the middle blue version, crocheted with hook 4,5 and following the pattern below. Here the hand and thumb are a little bit longer.
The grey mittens have been crocheted with a thicker yarn and hook 5.
Nota per me ( x foto da mettere ancora): preferisco l’uso dell’uncinetto n. 4,5 e questo modello per anni 3-5 ca. (dita e palmo più lunghe):
60 ch + 1 ch (x turn) . Poi : 12 sc, 16 hdc, 4 slip stitches, 16 hdc, 12 sc.
8 rows.
Then, x the thumb= 12 sc, 6 hdc, 15 chain, 6 hdc, 12 sc.
1° row: 12 sc, 16 hdc, 3 slip stitches, 1 hdc, 12 sc. Make a 2nd and a 3d row. Finish and sew.
Photo 3: the green pair has 10 rows instead of 8, because seemed not wide enough. For the green and red tweed pair casted on 64 + 1 (x turn). Then 12 sc, 18 hdc, 4 sl st, 18 hdc, 12 sc.
8 or 10 rows before the thumb.
Thumb: 12 sc, 6 hdc, chin of 17, 6 hdc, 12 sc. Then 3 rows of 12 sc, 13 hdc, 3 sl st, 13 hdc and 12 sc. Break off the yarn and sew.
Nota x me: misura adulta x me o sorelle, con uncinetto 4 a chain of 80+1 st. 12 sc, 29 hdc, 4 sl st, 29 hdc, 12 sc. Five rows.
For the thumb: 12 sc,….?
