Legs/BodyHead
Instead of making the pants from the scrubs pattern, I will be adding the pants colour to the body…that way, I will only need to make the scrubs top
Black yarn for shoes to end of Rnd 10, then change to dark blue for pants. Work with dark blue for pants to the end of Rnd 22, then change to skin tone in Rnd 23.
I added 5 extra rounds to the arms, legs and body to make the doll a little taller. I also added a few rounds to the sleeves and body of the scrubs top.
Mask
I wanted my mask to be wider in the center, so I worked the starting chain, 4sc, 3hdc, dc to last 7sts, 3hdc, 4sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: 1sc, 2sctog, 1sc, 3hdc, dc to last 7sts, 3hdc, 1sc, 2sctog, 1sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 3: 1sc, 2sctog, 3hdc, dc to last 6sts, 3hdc, 2sctog, 1sc…then make ties as per pattern.
Eyebrows
I needle-felted some brushed-out yarn (same as hair colour) in place over the eyes.
Nurse’s Watch Brooch
Using white yarn and a 2.5mm hook, I made 6sc in a magic ring, sl st to join. Change to pink yarn and work 2sc in each st around, finish off.
I made a second piece using just pink yarn for the back of the watch.
Use embroidery thread to mark the clock face/hands.
Place both circles together with the clock face on the top…sl st through both circles to join - when you get to the last 3sts, work 3sc, ch1, turn.
Work another row or two of sc…ch 2, turn.
Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc the next 3sts, then finish with a foundation sc, finish off.
To avoid increase lines on the bottom of the head,
I ‘split’ or stagger the increases like this;
Up to Rnd 34: As per pattern.
Rnd 35: 2sc, inc, * (4sc, inc) * repeat from * to * to last 2sts - finish the round with 2sc.
Rnd 36: As per pattern.
Rnd 37: 3sc, inc, * (6sc, inc) * repeat from * to * to last 3sts - finish the round with 3sc.
Rnd 38: As per pattern.
Rnd 39: 4sc, inc, * (8sc, inc) * repeat from * to * to last 4sts - finish the round with 4sc.
Rnd 40 and beyond: As per pattern.
So - the pattern hasn’t been altered at all!
You’ve simply moved the increases on all of the ‘even’ rounds and all ‘odd’ rounds remain the same
