Notes

I bought a skein of natural slubbed linen at Wonderwool Wales last year. I then hand died it with Dylon a lovely turquoise shade. I modified the pattern by knitting 26 rows before the eyelet row and 80 rows between the eyelet rows. To neaten the edges, I crocheted two rows of double crochet (single crochet - US term), before crocheting the two halves together. I then picked up stitches around the lower edge as I wanted a longer top and knitted downwards and included two eyelet rows. I finished the lower edge by increasing the stitches to form a frill edge. The top half is knitted with two strands of the linen, and the lower part is single strand. It fits well and I’m pleased with the result.
