When I saw this design, I knew that I needed to make it into a dress. So with a little bit of alteration, I made it into a tunic dress.

I used linked dc to hold the stitches together.

I also tapered the waist down once the underarm was joined so there was more shape to it. This is done using gradual reductions (dc2tog) at the waist reducing it by 2 stitches on each side on the dc rounds so overall 4 stitches per row.

I did this for about 6 rows altogether so 24 stitches reduction. I would certainly recommend trying it on regularly when you’re making these alterations as everyone shape is different.

I then made gradual increases for the hips using the same method and when I was happy with the fit, I just made it straight down to the length that I wanted it to be, maybe even making slight tapering if it was too large.

When I got to the length I needed, 2 set up rows are needed before the colour work is begun.
They are:
1dc, ch 2, skip 1 st first in colour B then in colour A

Once, the set up rows are done, I repeated from row 23 onwards of the colourwork to give it a border edging at the bottom.

Overall, I’m very pleased with it. Once again, Tatiana has excelled herself at making these crochet patterns. Although, it looks complicated, the pattern is very well written with lots of pics on how to work the colourwork. Suitable for an adventurous beginner! Thank you Tatiana for letting me be a tester for this beautiful sweater and for allowing me to adapt it to what I wanted.
