The photos show the same sweater - size 46.5” on a small mannequin (white in colour and uk size 12) and a larger mannequin (black in colour and uk size 18/20).

I am currently a 44” bust and it fits me fairly well but it will be perfect for my friend who has a 40” bust which is somewhere between the 2 mannequins.

I used stash yarn which is slightly finer than the recommended yarn so to achieve close to gauge, I went up to a 4.5mm needle after the first 3 rounds.

I used a backwards loop cast on for the underarm stitches because the cable cast on was really messy and I hated the w&t shaping at the yoke and hem because the looser fabric really showed up the holes - I switched to German Short Rows and this looks much better (although not invisible).

I knitted 20 rounds after the sleeve decreases and then 3 rounds of garter-stitch and Italian bind-off.

At the hem, to avoid the dreaded stockinette curl, I also knitted 3 rows of garter stitch and once again, the Italian bind-off. I photographed the sweater before blocking and you can see the lovely dipped hem, which really isn’t curling much at all.
