Notes

1/13/16 - Making this for the 25,000 Tuques Project. Added 10 cast-on stitches for a total of 50 to compensate for using smaller needles than called for. After looking at images of Syrian clothing I chose the red and black, since this color combination seemed to be popular in Syrian fashion.

1/25/16 - Done and very pleased. Next time I will make a yarnover in the end of the purlback rows of the concave sections (instead of knitting twice in the last stitch) to thread a gathering cord through. My thanks to Andrea (Pookybeast) for modeling.

Note: to avoid “stitch lines” on the right side, knit the first row of the convex sections after changing colors (knit row 7 instead of purl).

Note to self: 7 ribs for an adult small or child’s hat, 8 for medium adult.
