Notes

I’m casting on without hardly any planning. I had swatched the yarn a few weeks ago but I did not record what size needle I used (but I think it was 7s) I didn’t get exactly the right gauge, so I’m casting on with 8s. The pattern indicates that I should have enough yarn - we’ll see… I’m very doubtful.
I’m not sure what I’ll use for the contrasting yarn yet. I have several browns that would probably work with this oatmeal colored main yarn.

My spontaneity did not last long. After knitting about an inch of the 4x4 bottom ribbing, I could tell size 8 needles were too large. I knit a swatch, trying to knit the ribbing tighter and also knitted a few inches of stockinette and even did 3 repeats of the pattern with the contrasting yarn. 8’s just won’t work and I wouldn’t have enough yarn if I used 7’s. So I’m going to try a different yarn - my Sirdar Click.
