Notes

I love this hat! Knit with a single strand of fingering weight yarn, the brioche stitch makes a thick insulating fabric. It is so soft and cushy and stretchy; will be a lightweight cap that should keep my brother’s balding head warm no matter what he’s up to in Northwest Washington. It’s headed to him (a late birthday present, of course) with a message - if you aren’t gonna wear this, send it back!

Cast on 96 using the tubular cast on; knit one row in p1, k1; then knit in brioche pattern back and forth for 1 inch; then joined in the round. Went back and sewed up the two edges of the brim later. But this gave that 1” of ‘brim’ a bit of a different look.
