Notes

Cast on 360 stitches. Knit twisted rib for 2.75” with smaller needles. Switch to 3mm & work body.

Cast off 56 stitches for underarms (28 each side). 304 remaining.

Bottom of sleeve - Cast on for 82 stitches using smaller needles & knit twisted rib for 2.5”. Increase up to 132 stitches every 6 rows, then knit plain 40 (?) rounds. Cast off 28 stitches for underarms. 104 remain.

March 3rd - Join sleeves to body - 512 stitches. Knit 26 rounds plain. Increased one stitch centre front & back, then decreased a stitch at each shoulder, to be able to centre pattern properly.

Switch to stranded. Due to my stranded gauge being smaller, I omitted the first decrease round called for in Budd’s directions.

Used several charts from Using Mary Jane Mucklestone’s ‘200 Fair Isle Designs as well as a couple of adapted heavily/made up.

Followed the rest of the decreasing as per Budd’s instructions. 10 short rows at back neck (5 wrap/turns each side), then one last round of decreasing (k2tog, k5) to bring the count down for a better fitting neck.

Jan 15th - blocking, then colourwork ends to weave in when dry.
