I’m so excited about this new mkal, i had so much fun last year! So, let’s follow a new Arrow!!
I plan to work it with different colors, at least 2. I have enough leftovers from the Exploration Station shawl, i love these colors and the way they look together.
-
Jan 21st: I’m starting Clue 1A in Nassau blue. Clue 1B is very interesting, i like the texture but i’m not fond of triangular shawls, so i think it’s better if i choose 1A.
-
Jan 23rd: Clue 1A done. Love the edging
-
Jan 26th: Arfff, even after many samples, i’m still unsure about the choice of the clue and colors… Need to sleep…
-
Jan 27th: I finally decided to do Clue 2B in Nassau, with Antler for CC1 and Pop Rocks for CC2. For the increases, I’m not convinced by the yarn over method, you can see the little holes, so from now, I’m doing instead the regular M1L and M1R.
-
Jan 31st: Clue 2B done.
-
Feb 4th: Decided on Clue 3A in Antler.
-
Feb 25th: I had to put aside the kal to finish in time my Carnival costume. But today, i finally finished Clue 3 and starting 4B in Pop Rocks.
-
March 4th: Clue 4B done, i’m working on 5B in Nassau. Before this last clue, i had 13g of Antler, 24g of Pop Rocks, and 40g of Nassau left.
-
March 14th: Done!!! I used up all the Nassau and Antler yarn, then i cast off in Pop Rocks using Jeny’s Super Stretchy Bind Off. I love love love the result!
-
March 24th: I blocked it last night, and it’s so huge!! I love love love the result, the pattern is a big hit. But i’m again very disappointed by the yarn, the Madelinetosh. The colors are maybe wonderful, but the poor dyeing quality isn’t worth the expensive price. As said in the Exploration Station notes, i washed separately each skeins before knitting, and the blue bled like a crazy, it was difficult to stop it. Once dry, i made my sample, and the blue didn’t move. But here, when i blocked my shawl, with the same method and the same temperature, the blue bled again. Slightly, but enough to cover the white yarn with a light shade of blue.
