7/27/15: I saw this bag on Pinterest, and the colors the maker chose inspired me to make my own. Of course I didn’t have the glorious colors the maker chose, I had to make do with my own sorely lacking stash. I have yet to buy a handle and fabric for the lining. Note to self: please make zippered pouch. I can say that I hate crocheting with 2 strands. Very hard on the hands. I like the idea of the granny square. I can see how this could become a quilt.
8/2/15: I made the lining last night, out of 2 bandanas, that were not completely square. I was going to sew in a zipper, but I have a lot of Velcro laying around, so I used that instead. I also included some pockets. I used the scraps cut from the sides of the lining, and it magically gave me 6 pockets.
I’m a little disappointed, because I’m at 25 inches square (63.5 cm) at 19 rows, using a 4.25mm hook (it says G on it). I’m going to start the scs now. I made my handles out of a (new) aquarium vacuum pump hose. I didn’t feel like going to Home Depot (I’m getting lazy in my craft adventures).
8/3/15: I’m frogging what I have, because I guess it dawned on me that I’m using the wrong yarn :( I only had Red Heart acrylic in my stash. I’m starting over from scratch, because this bag is too cute not to make. I’m on my way to Hobby Lobby.
