Notes

I started this shawl while on vacation. I did not want anything to complicated. I was worried at first that it might be a bit complex. BUT, it only looks complex with the different colors and yarns changing. The pattern is an absolute dream!! The chevron pattern is an easily memorized repeat and the columns pattern is a series of slip stitches that are a welcome change from the chevron.
It is so much fun changing colors and yarn and watching it grow.
I’m loving how quickly it is going! I’m planning on doing both ends separately to maximize my yarn. The, I will graft both ends together. The pattern is written so you don’t have to do that but I prefer to ensure all of my yarn is used!
I can’t wait to wear mine!
April 21: finished first half. Blocking it to see true length and width. Very happy with results thus far. Will cast on for second half this afternoon
May 12: note, I also did part 4 vertical stripes on each end. Now I’m working on using extra beaded yarn on both ends. To make it easier to continue two symmetrical parts, I weighed each leftover and divided it in half
Here are the extra repeats I’m doing
F,A,F,F,A,B,F,B,B,F,F,B,B,F, In chevron pattern
Then E,E in ribbed pattern.
Then I did a three needle bind off with C wrong sides facing so it could form a beaded ridge.
