Notes

Finally settled on stash buster yarn selection and simple twill draft. Ready to get warping started. Want to be sure to use all the “coastal” color, so that will be warp.

Fingering weight yarns
12 dent reed / 12 epi
warp length 100”
152 warp ends (+2 floats)
12.75” width on loom

Warping my loom!

Finally weaving. Had to change my pattern selection. First attempt was totally burying the weft color. Had to pick another twill with same threading, but changed the treadles completely.
The white weft is still dominant - both yarns are same weight, but the white obviously has more loft in the weft and the blue/green warp is stretched so it is thinner. Once it is off the loom and wet blocked hopefully it may equalize somewhat. I am mentally making strong effort to beat very gently.
And added 6 picks of tabby at start, which hopefully I will remember to add at the very end also.

Remembered to do the 6 picks of tabby at the end!
It is off the loom!
As I took it off I tied knots of 6 warp ends at both ends. Did not do any hem stitching. Haven’t decided yet if I want to twist the fringe or leave the fringe straight and trimmed to same shorter length at both ends. I want to machine wash/dry the scarf before making that decision, so I’ll probably tie another set of knots further down to keep the warp ends from tangling in the washer and then twist or just cut the fringe above the second set of knots.

Pre-Wash/Block Size: 10-3/4” x 59” + fringe
