Swatching, swatching.
Gauge swatch bef wash
20 sts x 25 rows
#5 4” x 3.1875”
#6 4.0625” x 3.5”
#7 4.125” x 3.875”
Gauge swatch after wash
#5 4” x 3.25”
#6 4” x 3.625”
#7 4.25” x 3.875”
Going with size 6 needle.
Added 8 extra stitches (4 each side) on front for additional room in the bust. (Increased on rounds 3, 5, 7, 9 of the body after separating for sleeves. Then decreased those sts away on rounds 15, 17, 19, 21.)
Eliminated the last 10-row repeat (including final decreases) on each sleeve.
Finished the bottom of the body and sleeves using garter stitch option.
Not happy with the neckline as written (a little too wide and doesn’t lay flat enough). Picked up same number of stitches around neckline on needles 2 sizes smaller, then worked 4 rounds in purl stitch on larger needles so it rolls inward, and bound off in purl on 5th round.
12/30/18: divided the sleeves and body.
1/1/19: about halfway thru side eyelet section; started 3rd ball of yarn
1/5/19: started 4th ball of yarn (partial ball left from swatch) a couple rows from the end of last pattern repeat
1/6/19: started first sleeve (still using 4th partial ball)
1/9/19: finished first sleeve and started second sleeve; switched to 5th ball of yarn for second sleeve since I used partial ball 4 for neckline experimentation swatch)
1/11/19: finished second sleeve
1/12/19: neckline edging.
Had a total of 105g leftover between two partial balls.
Pre-blocking: garter stitch edging on body is flipping up, I think that should block flat.
First photo is after blocking, second photo is before.
