Test for Stephanie Lotven. It’s a beautiful lace cowl in DK yarn. I decided to use striped yarn.

Measurements:

Unwashed:
Front length: 43 cm/ 17”
Back length: 21 cm/ 8 1/4”
Neck opening: 42 cm (21 cm x 2)/ 16 1/2”

Washed and blocked to measurements; measured when dry it is near to pattern:
Front length: 50 cm/ 19 3/4”
Back length: 25 cm/ 10”
Neck opening: 50 cm/ 20”

Test thread

Final Gauge of my cowl: like original pattern gauge:
22 sts & 28 rounds = 4 inches/ 10 cm in stockinette worked flat & in the round after blocking

Swatching:
Swatch gauge unwashed with needle 3.25 mm stockinette, 10 cm: 21 sts and 28 rows.
Wet blocked to same gauge.
Swatch washed and dry after blocking:
20.5 sts and 28 rows.

Yarn:
Viking Aurora 630. (1) 148 g. Used: 110 g (38 g left).
0.73 skeins = 275.0 meters (300.7 yards), 110 grams used total.
Swatch is not included in amount used.

Needles: 2.5 mm Lykke interchangeables, wooden needles.
I found it best to work the flat section with an 80 cm long cable, then going down to 60 cm when joining to the round, and from section 13 up to 80 cm again.
