Preview knit for Crystal Hiatt, a beautiful cowl. It was perfect for my Peer Gynt yarn (dark red, orange and light green).
The pattern was easy to follow. Also the colorwork is easy, no long floats.
The cowl was enjoyable to knit, and I’m very happy with the fit. It will be good and warm for winter.
I followed the pattern as written. Standard BO used at the end, using larger needles.
Needles:
I decided to use 3.5 mm as my main needle, and 3.0 as my smaller needle.
I used Addi metal needles, 60 cm.
Gauge:
My gauge was looser than in pattern, though I used a smaller needle than suggested, main needle 3.5 mm; unwashed 21 sts/ 10 cm.
My gauge with main needle 3.5 mm:
Unwashed:
21 sts/ 25 rnds = 10 cm.
Washed:
21 sts/ 23 rnds = 10 cm
Measurements washed and dry:
58 cm circumference and 27 cm height.
Colors and yarn:
MC: Dark red.
CC: alternating between green and orange.
Skeins:
MC:
(1) 52 g, all used up.
(2) 53 g, 26 g used (27 g left)
78 g used total.
