This pattern looks like it was designed to minimize sewing. I think picking up stitches on the back of a cabled panel is way harder than sewing down a pocket so I made pocket lining pieces to sew on. I also decided that 38 rows would make for oddly small pockets and made them 50 rows instead. I made the sleeves separately and sewed them in. Knitting sleeves onto the full body of a sweater is not something I enjoy.
