04/16/15 Received the black yarn, and fortunately it matches the other colors in gauge. It is higher contrast than I wanted when I chose the gray, but what the heck. Underway again!

04/10/15 What a surprise: different colors of Stockbridge knit to different gauge. Specifically, the Dark Gray is thinner (and softer) than all the other colors I am using for this project, closer to a sport weight than a worsted. damn

I believe the difference is somehow due to the heathered appearance of the Dark Gray yarn; all the other colors are solid. Have just now ordered solid Black instead. (The Dark Gray is really soft and pretty, so I’m keeping it for some other project.)

04/09/15 Swatched and blocked. Row height gauge dead on, but getting 5 sts per inch on 7s instead of 4.5. Don’t want to go up a needle size because fabric is too loose, so will knit size M2, which would give me 3” positive ease if I were on gauge … And I can try on as I go.
