My aunt is having a boy in January, so I’m making this for her baby shower. It’s a bit over-the-top for something that will only be worn for a few months, so I am making it in gender neutral colours, hoping it can be passed on to others in the future.

This was my first time cutting my own steeks, and I was terrified - taking scissors to your knitting is nerve wracking. In the end, it wasn’t as scary as I’d thought and I’m glad I did it. Katie Davis has a great tutorial on how to secure your steeks with a crochet reinforcement. I’m not too confident with a sowing machine, so I really liked this approach.

Yarn is lovely, and softened up a bit during the first washing. Pattern is detailed and easy to follow.
