The final garment is really heavy, but warm and comfortable. It both feels and looks very different from my last old town - which is actually kind of what I was aiming for when I chose this yarn.
The construction gives it a “tailored” fit around the shoulders. Great pattern. :)

First photos. The jacket is black, but because of the flash looks pale in these photos. You can see the construction on the shoulders, and the first few inches of the torso.

Both sleeves done. Opted not to change to smaller needles for the ribbing, as I like a straight sleeve. Because of the ribbing it still fits snugly around my wrists.

With all the fun stuff done, now begins the tedious task of knitting the torso (phase 10)… I am planning on making this one extra long, but we’ll see how long my patience lasts.

First 7 phases completed. Picking up and purling sts went a lot smoother with a smaller crochet needle (2,5mm). To get the right st count I ended up doing a yo for approx. every 2 sts picked up. As I begun knitting the picked up sts I made sure to knit the yo’s twisted, to avoid any holes in the fabric.

I am knitting the sleeves in the round on 30 cm/12” circular needles for a seemless result. I may need to change to dpns further down, where the sleeves are narrower, but so far it’s working great.

Loving my first old town so much, I’ve decided to make another - this time in black.

This time around I am using merino yarn, witch is slightly thicker than the alpaca I used last time. I am hoping the lace pattern will still look good. I am also planning on making this longer, for an extra warm and cosy jacket.
