Cast on. Love the texture of the yarn and how you can feel it beginning to felt together almost immediatly. Can already tell this will be a very warm pullover. I really like the hem, and how there is now edge from the cast on (the patterns calls for provisional CO, then knitting together the bottom row (from the provisional CO) and the live sts from the top of the hem before continuing with the body.)

This project is turning out a LOT bigger than I had hoped. Oh well, it won’t be the fitted pullover I’ was aiming for, but hopefully it will still turn out wearable.
Have just begun knitting the arm steeks, and I am already running a bit low on some of the colours, so I am definitely nervous - hope I have enough to finnish.
Feeling a bit discouraged. Will work on other projects until I feel inspired to finish this one.

More than 4 years later, I think it’s safe to say that this will never be a sweater…
Trying to think of a way to repurpose what I’ve already knit. Perhaps a sweater vest for my son? A little teddy bear?

Pulling this one out of hibernation to make a little sweater vest for my son. I washed the fabric once in the machine on a wool cycle, and then just cut it without securing - everything is holding up as it should so far.
Used one of his sweaters as a size guide, and added some room for seam allowance. Hand stitched around all raw edges to prevent fraying, but I’m not sure it was even necessary. Seamed the sides and shoulders by hand - it was quick.
I’m using colourway “pine” to pick up stitches along the edges and knitting rib (1k1p) using 2mm needles. I picked up 3 out of 4 sts around the armholes, and all stitches around the bottom edge.
For the armhole I used Katie Davis steek sandwich method of covering the raw edge, for the bottom I’m thinking I’ll just fold the rib. Haven’t quite figured out how to knit the ribbing for the neckline yet…
