Notes

Nov 20: done! Could have finished earlier but had put it down for a bit. The superwash yarn seems to stretch a bit upon washing, I probably could have knitted an extra small for a more snug fit. It’s a fun pattern that I will probably knit again.

Nov 14: a quick knit that’s a lot of fun to create - I’m loving the Sweater yarn by Spud & Chloe, the 50/50 wool/cotton makes it soft but warm.

Nov 4: can confirm that the pattern sizes are large, I’m knitting the “small” size with worsted gauge & it’s still more than big enough for my medium-size body…

Nov 2: raglan increases done, sleeve St set aside to knit body.
My gauge seems to match what’s described for worsted weight yarn (18-20 st). I added 1 additional raglan increase so size is in between small & medium… will try on as I knit to check size, as many have commented that the pattern sizes quite large.

Oct 29 update: Colors selected for each sweater section & 1st stitches cast on!

Back to knitting after a 2-year hiatus. My last finished object was a lovely irissch Artyarns cachemire “Shades of Summer” shawl completed in 2019, right before the Covid-19 pandemic hit.

This autumn, I was inspired by the beautiful designs to knit a Christmas gift sweater for my young adult daughter.. I’m SO thankful I talked to her about my idea before starting the project, because the designs I had in mind did not suit her. We explored Ravelry together and settled on this pretty and quick top down design that I’m going to do in color block.

My swatches are exploring color combinations in addition to gauge and drape.
