The pattern is simple and easy to follow and I’m really happy with the result. Would love to have had some notes somewhere in there on customising the length: as a shorter person I felt that 60” was probably too long for me but couldn’t figure out how much shorter would be best. I went with my gut (figure if 60” is length given for wrap and the average woman is 5’5”, then with a ratio of 11:12 for height: wrap length is good. Therefore, at not quite 5’2” my wrap should be 56” and I should do two fewer repeats than the pattern called for. Not sure that was right and think I will need to block it when I get home, but a quick try with a shawl pin seems to suggest I’m not far wrong.

I love the yarn and the colour is superb. Will post more pics when I’m home and have got the buttons on and blocked it.

One more note about the pattern: all those chains and sc were so boring but the result is worth the tedium, I think.

24 April: Found the perfect buttons but I wish I could work out where they’re meant to be sewn to create the adaptable garment shown in the original. I tried where I thought it should be and it seems … not right. A diagram to show on which side and where the buttons should be would be really helpful. Will keep playing and post an update when I figure it out.
