Switching out the sheep with hedgehogs.
Did a provisional cast on, because the neck opening looks a little too wide for my preferences. Skipped shortrows because I was going to do some form of neck shaping later. When the rest of the jacket was done I picked up stitches and knit as follows;
- Left 7 steek-stitches +7 stitches on each side on helping needles.
- Stripe 1; Knit 1 row. Left 2 first and last stitches on helping needles during row 2
- Stripe 2; Decreased 20 stitches evenly
- Stripe 3-8; Knit 1 row. Left 2 first and last stitches on helping needles during row 2
- After stripe 8: Picked up all stitches and knit neck ribbing.
After knitting about 8 cm on the body, I found it to be too big over the back. Ripped back to decrease more stitches in the back. I have had this problem before as well. Probably time to realize that my back is small, and that I need fewer stitches in the back than in the front.
Ribbing and buttonbands in a little bit thicker yarn, needles 2.5 mm. Bound off really firmly to avoid bumpiness. Bound off with wrong side out, to get a little bit of a rougher finish. One row buttonhole over 5 stitches.
