Using a couple of balls I’ve been stashing for ages, I’m gonna make a gauge first and see if the needles fit the yarn since it looks thicker.

Nevermind, it actually is thinner. Got 23.5 stitches per 4 inches, I didn’t really check the height but as this is just a beanie I don’t think it matters that much. My head size is 21 1/5 inches so after doing some math I placed 120 stitches on my needles. But after knitting a bit I noticed it was way too wide so I ended up with 112 stitches for the cast on and kept on with that.

I kept with the pattern instructions but added a row of knit, one of purls and another of knit to have a last separation.
